What is a double bet?

A double bet is one bet on two selections in different events. Both have to win. The return from the first is staked on the second, so the odds multiply.

If one selection is a non runner or void, the double becomes a single on the other one.

Double worked example

A £10 double on 2/1 and 3/1 returns £120.00 if both win. Splitting the same £10 into 2 singles on the same picks would return £35.00 if both won.

When a double suits you

  • Two selections you're confident about.
  • Bigger odds than two separate singles, from one stake.

Watch out for

  • One loser and the whole bet loses.
  • The bookmaker's margin multiplies too.
