What is a Lucky 15 bet?

A Lucky 15 bet is fifteen bets on four selections in different events: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold. It's a Yankee with singles added.

Because it includes singles, one winner is enough for a return. Most of the big payouts come from the doubles, trebles and fourfold, so the bet pays best when three or four selections win.

Lucky 15 or Yankee?

A Yankee is a Lucky 15 without the four singles. It costs £11 instead of £15 for £1 a line, but it pays nothing unless at least two picks win.

If you want something back from a single winner, the Lucky 15 is the one. If you'd rather put the whole stake into multiples, go for the Yankee.

Lucky 15 bonuses

Many bookmakers add bonuses to Lucky 15s. Common ones are double or treble odds on a single if only one selection wins, and a percentage bonus if all four win. They differ between bookmakers and change often.

This calculator shows standard returns without bonuses. Check your bookmaker's terms and add any bonus on top.

When a Lucky 15 suits you

  • Four selections on a Saturday card or a football weekend, with a small stake per line.
  • Getting something back if only one pick wins.

Watch out for

  • A £1 Lucky 15 is a £15 bet, and £30 each way.
  • The bookmaker's margin applies to every leg, so multiples carry a bigger margin than singles.

How to use the Lucky 15 calculator

Enter the odds for your four selections and your stake per line. Mark each one as won, placed, lost or void, and add a Rule 4 deduction if one applied.

Switch on each way and pick the place terms if you backed it each way. The results show your total stake, total return and profit, and the breakdown shows what the singles, doubles, trebles and fourfold each return.

Questions people ask

What is a Lucky 15?

A Lucky 15 is fifteen bets on four selections: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold. One winner is enough for a return.

How does a Lucky 15 work?

Your four picks are combined into every single, double, treble and the fourfold, at the same stake each. Any bet where every pick in it wins pays out, so more winners switch on more bets.

Can you do a Lucky 15 each way?

Yes. A Lucky 15 each way is 30 bets, 15 to win and 15 to place, so £1 each way costs £30. The place part pays on any selection that wins or places, at the place terms. Switch on each way in the calculator to work out yours.

What happens if one selection is a non runner?

It's treated as void. Bets that include it carry on without it, so a double with a non runner becomes a single.

How much does a £1 Lucky 15 cost?

£15 win only, or £30 each way.

Do I need all four selections to win?

No. Any single winner pays through its single. Two winners also pay a double, three winners pay three doubles and a treble, and four winners pay everything.

What is the difference between a Lucky 15 and a Yankee?

A Yankee is the same bet without the 4 singles, so it's 11 bets and you need at least two winners for a return.
